I’ve been meaning to crank out this post since the beginning of May. Here it is at the end of June, and I’m finally getting around to this...
2025 has been a bit of a break-out year for the Webmaster Backup Alliance (WBA). February and March saw us releasing our first two podcast episodes. The production quality for those could certainly be improved, but our main goal for them was to foster more introductions, and they’ve certainly helped with that. Recently, we’ve setup a new Community portal. It’s powered by Fluent Community, and we are just beginning to explore its features.
The ethos behind the WBA is simple: We are connecting like-minded web developers to provide backup to one-another. Time and again, I think all of us are seeing that the value here lies in simply making connections and building mutual trust and experience thorough consistent connections. Those things happen through our bi-weekly video meetings where we share what we’re working on, coding tips, and updates on our lives in general. If this sounds like a good idea to you, please reach out to us.
In the meantime, once we get through the crunch of our summer schedules, Nic, Andy, and I hope to release another podcast episode or two. The key here is integrating that with all of our other tasks and responsibilities. Now that we’re into year three of this journey, we’re finding that our main priority is meeting consistently as our schedules allow. Then we let things like our podcast and this blog flow from there as we have time. Until then, keep crushing those bugs, fulfilling your client requests, and optimizing those servers. Cheers!
